A new birthday party and playtime destination for young kids is coming to Chevy Chase.
Busy Bees, an indoor playground and activity center, is planning to open at 11 Wisconsin Circle in late June or early July, owner Natalia Arbelaez said Thursday.
With slides, playground equipment and party rooms, everything will be “soft-padded” and “always in motion,” Arbelaez said. There’s even a planned “balloon pit”—a more sanitary analogue to the dreaded, germ-ridden ball pit.
“People can expect a really fun, unique and clean environment for their little ones,” Arbelaez said.
Busy Bees also has a location in Falls Church, Virginia. The Chevy Chase location will be similar, except it will be a slightly larger space and will have a different color scheme, Arbelaez said. The space is still under construction.
The play space joins others in the area, including the upcoming Badlands, a 30,000-square-foot location in Rockville that will feature nature-inspired activities and an indoor mountain. Badlands was announced in February and its owners planned for a spring opening.
To create a safe setting where younger kids wouldn’t feel pushed around by older ones, only children shorter than 4 feet will be allowed to play at Busy Bees, she said.
